TURIN, PIEDMONT: LUXURY PROPERTY FOR SALE
Attested as early as the 3rd century BC as a settlement of the Taurine Celts, destroyed by the Carthaginians, the center of Taurinia was refounded by the Romans under Julius Caesar as Iulia Taurinorum. With the fall of Rome, Turin became the capital of a Longobard duchy and then, in 940, of the Marca di Torino under the Franks. After declaring itself a free municipality, the city definitively became part of the Duchy of Savoy.
In 1563, after the peace of Cateau-Cambrésis, the city became the capital of the Duchy of Savoy and was fortified with walls more suited to modern wars. In the 17th century, the city expanded considerably and its territory ended up incorporating Asti and the Monferrato, gaining an outlet to the sea to the south. In 1847 Turin became the capital of the unified kingdom of Piedmont and Sardinia and was the starting point for the Risorgimento wars.
From 1861 to 1865 the city was the capital of the newborn Kingdom of Italy, before it was moved to Florence and then Rome.
In 1899 Giovanni Agnelli founded FIAT in Turin and in 1906 it was the turn of Lancia. Turin imposed itself as one of the main industrial centers of Italy and because of this it suffered heavy bombing during the Second World War.
Among the monuments of the city we must mention the remains of the Roman theater, Casa del Senato, the 15th century Duomo, the Maschio della Cittadella, the Mole Antonelliana, the Fenoglio-Lafleur House and the Royal Palace of Turin.
In this splendid city at the foot of the Alps, Romolini Immobiliare offers a selection of luxury villas, prestigious apartments and wine estates for sale.

The castle is embedded in a breathtaking context: the Canavese is indeed a unicum when considering its environmental and geological peculiarities, since it bears the traces of ancient glaciations in the form of the famous Serra d’Ivrea and the five lakes (including Sirio, Nero and Pistono where one can swim). Because of these unique features, the area has been listed as a site of community importance by the EU.
