Tuscany - Arezzo - Arezzo
Tuscany, one of Italy's most iconic and breathtaking regions, embodies the essence of Italian beauty, culture, and tradition. Nestled between the Apennine Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea, its landscape is a mesmerizing blend of rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, sprawling vineyards, olive groves, and medieval villages perched on hilltops. The region’s natural beauty is matched by its rich history, artistic heritage, and world-renowned culinary and wine traditions.
Wine enthusiasts from around the globe flock to Tuscany for its legendary wine production. The region is the birthplace of some of the most revered wines in the world, such as Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Chianti, produced in the heart of Tuscany, is arguably the most famous, with its distinctive ruby-red color and bold flavors, while Brunello, made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, is one of Italy’s most prestigious wines, aging gracefully for decades. Wine routes, like the Strada del Vino in the Chianti region, allow visitors to tour centuries-old wineries, sample wines, and explore charming villages along the way.
Tuscany is also a haven for lovers of art and history. Florence, the region’s capital, is a cultural mecca, often referred to as the cradle of the Renaissance. Its galleries and museums, such as the Uffizi and Accademia, house masterpieces from artists like Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Leonardo da Vinci. The iconic Florence Cathedral, with its massive dome designed by Brunelleschi, dominates the skyline, while the Ponte Vecchio, a medieval bridge lined with jewelry shops, is one of the city’s most beloved landmarks.
Siena, another jewel of Tuscany, offers a different charm with its medieval architecture and rich traditions. The Piazza del Campo, known for the Palio, a centuries-old horse race held twice a year, is considered one of the most beautiful squares in Italy. Siena’s Gothic cathedral, with its intricate black and white striped marble, is a stunning testament to medieval craftsmanship.
Further west, Pisa is home to the iconic Leaning Tower, but it also offers much more with its rich maritime history and the grandeur of the Piazza dei Miracoli. Lucca, known for its preserved Renaissance-era city walls, invites visitors to explore its quiet streets, where churches and piazzas surprise at every turn. San Gimignano, a medieval town famous for its many towers, gives visitors a glimpse of Tuscany’s feudal past and offers sweeping views over the surrounding countryside.
Tuscany’s landscapes are also dotted with thermal springs, such as the natural hot springs of Saturnia, providing a relaxing retreat after days of exploring. The coastline, too, with the Maremma region and the island of Elba, offers picturesque beaches and pristine waters, a contrast to the inland hills and vineyards.
DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDINGS, STATE AND FINISHES
The business headquarter (482 m² – 5,186 ft²) hosts wine cellar, reception, offices, kitchen and workshop, tasting/event room and small shop. The wine cellar, built following the principle of sustainable architecture, was built using huge sandstone blocks which had been unearthed while digging in preparation for the construction. By using natural materials we have an optimal which allows ageing wine with no waste of energy.
The Leopoldina (452 m² – 4,863 ft², 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms) is laid out onto two floors organized as follows:
- Ground floor: loggia, ample living room, dining room with kitchen and three double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom;
- First floor: living room obtained inside a very panoramic loggia, dining room with stone fireplace, kitchen and three double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.
The leopoldina dates back to the end of the 19th century and was probably built on the remains of an older building, now completely lost. The façade boasts the four typical arches which make a Tuscan leopoldina easily recognizable. On the southern side of the house is located the garden with 12 × 5 m swimming pool.
Villa Mandorlo (361 m² – 3,884 ft², 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms) takes its name from the impressive and colorful almond tree (mandorlo in Italian) which surrounds the building and is also visible from Arezzo in the blooming season. The building is laid out onto three floors and has been restored following the same criteria as for the leopoldina:
- Basement: cellar, laundry room and bathroom;
- Ground floor: patio, living room, dining room with kitchen, two double bedrooms and two bathrooms;
- First floor: three bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.
Just outside the building one can find a well-maintained garden with a rounded-edge swimming pool (40 m² – 430 ft²).
The farmhouse (330 m² – 3,551 ft², 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms) is laid out onto two floors:
- Ground floor: living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room with bathroom and two bedrooms with en-suite bathroom;
- First floor: three bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.
This is the older building in the property, dating back to the 13th century, and it was restored between 2000 and 2001 to make it part of the accommodation business. The building has been preserved in its original shape and boasts thick stone walls, ceilings held by wooden beams and trusses and roofs covered in terracotta tiles. All the materials used in the renovation process have been salvaged from old buildings, with the exception of fixtures and systems which are of new generation. The private garden (roughly 5,000 m² – 1.2 ac) hosts the swimming pool for the building (approx. 80 m²).
The old workshop (103 m² – 1,108 ft²) houses several storage rooms, a laundry room and a tool room.
Finally, the property is completed by four agricultural sheds (178 m² – 1,915 ft²) currently used as storage rooms and shelter for the vehicles and a control room (38 m² – 409 ft²).

All the buildings lie on a single servitude-free plot of land and the property is fenced for roughly 17 hectares, a feature which grants privacy and quiet.
