In the oldest part of Positano, slightly above the historical centre, near an antique church, we find this ancient villa (12 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms) enjoying a beautiful panoramic view of the Amalfi coast and Capri.
The property is set in a prestigious area, just five minutes from the historic center of Positano and the sea, and allows easily reaching several towns and cities of the region, among which we must cite Sorrento, Amalfi, Ravello, the isle of Capri (reached by boat in 40’), the incredible Roman city of Pompeii, Vietri and Naples.
The best airports are Naples (54km; 1h 5’) and Rome (254km; 3h).
The villa (500 m² – 5,382 ft², 12 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms) is set on four floors and is composed as follows.
- Basement: four suites with bathroom, terraces and porch.
- Ground floor: dining room, kitchen with pantry and spacious living room with TV corner and library. The main entrance is set on this floor, from the Mediterranean garden full of bougainvilleas, lemon and orange trees.
- First floor: four big suites with bathroom decorated with original Neapolitan ceramic mosaics dating back to the 18th century. All the bedrooms are equipped with large bathrooms and large terraces with all the comforts and amenities one would expect from a villa of this grandeur in Positano.
- Second floor: two suites (each with two bedrooms and two bathrooms). From the central landing one can also exit onto the two terraces at the back of the building.
The house is full of terraces with pergolas and loggias (350 sqm) and lush gardens (1,000 sqm) with a spectacular view on the beach of Positano. From the garden one can also enjoy a breathtaking view over the colored historic center of Positano, located just slightly below along the cliff.
This aristocratic property was originally built in 1741 on the ruins of Roman construction and has been recently carefully restored to a high standard and keeping its original magnificent distinctive features. The current owners have lovingly recovered the original Neapolitan paintings and decorated the house with antique high quality furniture.

The Amalfi Coast is a breathtaking stretch of coastline in southern Italy, renowned for its dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters, and picturesque towns that cascade down rugged hillsides. Nestled between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is famous for its unparalleled beauty, winding coastal roads, and Mediterranean charm.
At the heart of the Amalfi Coast are its charming seaside towns. Positano, with its pastel-colored houses stacked against the cliffs, is one of the most iconic spots, offering winding streets filled with artisanal boutiques, cozy cafés, and views of the Tyrrhenian Sea that stretch to the horizon. The town’s pebbled beach and azure waters make it perfect for a leisurely day by the sea. Nearby, Amalfi boasts historic landmarks, such as the Amalfi Cathedral, with its Arab-Norman architecture and richly decorated interior.
Further along the coast, Ravello sits perched high above the sea, famous for its panoramic views and beautiful gardens. Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone both offer lush terraces that overlook the coastline, attracting artists and writers for centuries. Ravello’s peaceful ambiance and sweeping vistas make it an ideal spot for those seeking a quieter escape.
The natural beauty of the Amalfi Coast is matched by its inviting beaches. Marina di Praia near Praiano is a hidden cove framed by high cliffs, while the beach at Fiordo di Furore is tucked into a narrow gorge, offering a unique and secluded experience. The coast is also dotted with sea caves, including the Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Grotto), where sunlight filters through the water, creating a mesmerizing green glow.
The Amalfi Coast is known for its distinct wines, which are made from grapes grown on steep terraced vineyards that hug the cliffs. The wines, particularly Falanghina and Biancolella, reflect the region’s coastal terroir, with fresh, citrusy notes that pair perfectly with local seafood dishes.
