Piedmont

In one of the most fascinating and sought-after areas of Monferrato, a UNESCO Heritage Site, stands this historic 17th-century winery with manorial villa perfectly integrated into the landscape at 450 m asl, in the municipality of Serralunga di Crea. The property is immersed in a wide natural curtain of seventeenth-century vineyards and enjoys a unique microclimate, ideal for the production of wines of the highest quality.

The historic heart of the property is the 17th-century cellar (1,788 m² – 19,239 ft²), now used as a barrique cellar, a fascinating and perfectly preserved environment that gives a strong identity value to the entire estate. Next to it is the modern production building developed on three levels:

• Basement: processing rooms with stainless steel tanks and state-of-the-art winemaking technology, warehouses, bottling room, storage rooms, dressing room with WC, four sheds and a technical room with independent external entrance;
• Ground floor: large and bright tasting room with fireplace, exposed beams and views of the vineyards, relaxation area also with fireplace and large windows that allow full enjoyment of the magnificent panorama, commercial area, kitchen, two offices, three toilets with hallway and three additional rooms. The level is completed by a storage room, a warehouse/tool store, a storage room and a porch.
• First floor: archive.

On top of a hill in Monferrato, in dominating position above a beautiful medieval town, this castle of over 4,000 m² is ideal to start a luxury boutique hotel. The project has already been approved to increase the number of bedrooms to 23. It is also possible to further expand the building with other 16 bedrooms. The property is completed by a frescoed church, the old convent and the 12 × 6 m swimming pool.

The castle (3,976 m² – 42,782 ft², up to 23 bedrooms) houses in the central portion a residential area made of twelve ample reception halls plus nine suite/apartments for the guests, the warden’s apartment and to ample halls in the southern wing which could be used as restaurant, breakfast rooms or event halls. On the north-eastern side fourteen new apartments for the guests are currently being built (each with independent access). The project also includes the realization of a fitness area in the basement of the castle.

Outside, the castle is fitted with two ample terraces (over 300 m² – 3,228 ft²) which offer a unique view over the underlying town.

Detached from the castle are located the old rectory (ten rooms for a total of approximately 141 m² – 1,517 ft²) and the church (112 m² – 1,205 ft²). 

On top of Monte Crovero above the Lakes of Ivrea, the Castle of Montalto Dora dominates the surrounding valleys with its imposing silhouette. The building (over 2,000 m²) revolves around a paved courtyard ideal for events and ceremonies, and includes 11 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and a beautiful 15th-century chapel. The land around (6.6 ha) is home to a secondary keep and a cascina.

The town of Montalto Dora is just 2 km from the Castle and offers all the necessary services. Other historic cities of northern Italy and renowned ski locations can all be reached in less than two hours.

The castle is embedded in a breathtaking context: the Canavese is indeed a unicum when considering its environmental and geological peculiarities, since it bears the traces of ancient glaciations in the form of the famous Serra d’Ivrea and the five lakes (including Sirio, Nero and Pistono where one can swim). Because of these unique features, the area has been listed as a site of community importance by the EU.

Just outside of the most renowned towns of Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, wine estate with cellar and 5.7 hectares of vineyards (+ 1.2 ha rented). The property currently produces up to 40,000 bottles of wine per year (including the superb Barolo DOCG) and features two apartments for a total of 5 bedrooms.

DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDINGS

The wine cellar (750 m² – 8,070 ft²) is laid over two floors including the winemaking rooms, the ageing cellar, a bottling and packaging line and a tasting room/wine shop for the guests. Outside the cellar there is also a convenient parking.

Right next to the cellar there is a residential building made up of two units. On the ground floor there is the first house (90 m² – 968 ft²), recently restored, a laundry and a boiler room.

On the upper floor there is the second house (90 m² – 968 ft²) made up of kitchen, living room with fireplace, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a sitting room.

Right next to the cellar there is a small plot of land with permission to build further 180 m² (1,937 ft²) of buildings, which could be used to expand the cellar, create a vehicle shelter or another residential unit.

In the municipality of Biella, at the feet of the Pennine Alps, this beautiful 18th-century period villa was finely restored and today it offers, together with several other buildings, a total of 17 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, also making for a perfect background for weddings and events.

The property located just outside Biella (2km; 5’), a lively city where all the services are available. Northern Italy, thanks to the excellent road network, is easy to travel through and in less than two hours one can reach important cities such as Turin, Milan, Aosta and Como.

For ski lovers, the Alps are the perfect destination and not far from the property one can quickly reach the two ski locations of Courmayeur (124km; 1h 20’) and Chamonix-Mont Blanc (145km; 1h 25).

The most convenient airport is Turin’s (92km; 45’), but the two terminals in Milan (Malpensa and Linate) are easily reached as well (roughly 1h 10’).

At the borders of Monferrato, in Piedmont, we find this beautiful noble castle with park. The finely restored building, offers a total of 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms and is currently a boutique hotel with congress hall and restaurant. The outdoor areas, roughly 6,900 sqm covered for the most part by a well-maintained park, are the ideal frame for al fresco events and ceremonies. In 1908 the building was awarded the certification of National monument for its great historic and artistic value.

The small medieval town offers all the necessary services (supermarkets, post offices, banks, pharmacies…) and other cites of Piedmont (and not only) are easily reached in just over an hour by car (Alessandria, Asti, Alba, Turin, Genoa, Milan…).

The closest airport is the one in Genoa (82km; 1h) but the terminals in Cuneo, Turin, Milan and Bergamo are equally convenient.
