On the border between Val d’Orcia and Crete Senesi, in a private and quiet location in the municipality of Trequanda, luxury resort with 17 apartments for sale. The buildings have been fully renovated since 2004 to convert what was a farm (dating back to the first half of the 19th century) into a beautiful resort. A deep love for the Tuscan landscape and architecture meant that the salient and typical details of the buildings were preserved with great care, reusing original material or specially produced pieces. At the same time, special attention was paid to sustainability with the installation of a geothermal heating system.
EXTERIOR
The buildings are surrounded by a beautiful 16,000-m² garden, well-maintained in every detail and furrowed by gravel paths connecting the various structures. A short distance from the resort, in the middle of the lawn, is the 16 × 5 m swimming pool with an area for children.
The rest of the farm is mostly covered by woods (3.1 ha) with a small olive grove (about 60 trees) located just at the southern border of the property, along the access road. A small private pond placed in the woods not far from the buildings completes the property.
Tuscany - Siena - Trequanda
Val d’Orcia, located in southern Tuscany, is one of Italy’s most enchanting landscapes, renowned for its rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, and picturesque vineyards. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Val d’Orcia embodies the quintessential Tuscan countryside, where nature, agriculture, and history blend seamlessly. Its gently undulating hills, golden wheat fields, and vibrant patches of vineyards and olive groves create a timeless beauty that has inspired artists and poets for centuries.
The region is particularly famous for its wine, with the Brunello di Montalcino standing out as one of the world’s most prestigious red wines. Produced from the Sangiovese grape in the medieval hilltop town of Montalcino, Brunello is celebrated for its rich, complex flavors and remarkable aging potential. Wine lovers flock to Montalcino’s vineyards and wineries, where they can tour ancient cellars, learn about traditional winemaking techniques, and sample the robust, earthy wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Beyond Brunello, the Rosso di Montalcino and wines from nearby Montepulciano, such as Vino Nobile, also offer exceptional tasting experiences.
Nature is at the heart of Val d’Orcia’s allure. The landscapes here are painted with the iconic rows of cypress trees, winding roads, and scattered farmhouses that have come to define Tuscany’s rural charm. Pienza, a Renaissance gem, offers panoramic views over the valley, where the patchwork of vineyards and fields stretches to the horizon. Known as the "ideal city," Pienza’s harmonious blend of nature and architecture makes it one of the most beautiful towns in the region.
Val d’Orcia is also perfect for outdoor activities. Hiking and cycling trails crisscross the region, offering visitors the chance to explore its diverse landscapes at a leisurely pace. The trails pass through ancient forests, vineyards, and medieval villages, allowing hikers to experience the tranquility of nature while enjoying breathtaking views of the valley. In spring, the fields are awash with wildflowers, while autumn brings the golden hues of the harvest, making it an ideal destination year-round.
The region’s hot springs add to its natural beauty. Bagno Vignoni, a tiny village famous for its ancient thermal baths, has a large stone pool in the main square, which has been used for centuries. Nearby Bagni San Filippo offers a more rustic experience, with natural hot springs surrounded by forested paths, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the countryside.
Val d’Orcia’s charm lies in its harmonious relationship with the land. The gentle hills and fertile soil not only produce world-class wines but also sustain olive groves, which produce some of Tuscany’s finest olive oils. The landscape is dotted with historic abbeys, like Abbazia di Sant’Antimo, where Gregorian chants still echo through the ancient stone walls, adding to the spiritual connection between the land and its past.
Whether sipping a glass of Brunello while overlooking the vineyards or hiking through the cypress-lined roads, Val d’Orcia offers a serene escape into the heart of Tuscany’s natural beauty. It’s a place where the simple pleasures of life—good wine, stunning landscapes, and a sense of timelessness—come together to create an unforgettable experience.
